It’s been a while since I’ve done much updating, well, anywhere. I’m not one of those people to post on social media every day. I don’t even write on this blog as often as I originally intended to, but I guess that’s the reality of my life out here. See, there’s always plenty happening, but there’s so much I can’t share or wouldn’t—because, at the end of the day, it’s not always my story to tell. That’s the reality of doing life up close and in person with others. It can get messy, challenging, sometimes heartbreaking. And it can also be filled with sweet victories and celebrations, just not ones that I would always post all over my social media pages for the world to know about.
There’s a phrase that’s become the anthem for this season for me—words I feel like the Lord has spoken, words I’m clinging onto as His truth. “There is far more happening beneath the surface than I can see.”
Beautiful, prophetic words—words that I’m confident the Lord is working out even now.
We have seen Him do so much! SO MUCH! And I wish I could sit across the table from you and explain each one. There have been HUGE victories and plenty of small ones too. There have been MIRACULOUS things, and things my mind is still struggling to fully comprehend. Even in the midst of so much strife or pain or just “hard stuff”, the Lord has been working in truly powerful ways.
And yet, I believe what the Lord has been speaking is that we’re on the cusp of a season of greater miracles. I’m believing that He has been doing far more beneath the surface than we can physically see, or as Paul writes in Ephesians 3:20:
“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for His miraculous power constantly energizes you.”
He’s working to achieve infinitely more and exceed our wildest imagination! What we’ve seen isn’t even half of what He’s doing.
Sometimes it’s easy for me to forget how much He’s at work around us. Life gets busy, crowded, chaotic, and sometimes overwhelming. It becomes so easy to focus on what I can see that I don’t always think about what I can’t see. But He is working—and in more ways than I can imagine. He’s working on our behalf. He’s working to bring Kingdom here. He’s working to show off His love, His power, His grace, His presence to the world He created. And I can only hope and ask that I will have the eyes to see it, the heart to press in and believe it.
We’re on the cusp of a season of greater miracles! I believe it! May we be people who live boldly in the places we can see and step courageously into the places we can’t, knowing that He is with us and working in us. May we be people who walk in the miraculous because our eyes are open to the miracles the Lord is doing all around us!
He’s doing far more than you can see!
